Ellen Heck: A Small Production of Alice in Wonderland

Newcastle Library 16 Sep - 30 Oct 16

Today I went to Newcastle Library to see one of the print exhibits as part of the International Print Biennale.

The exhibition was a small one with around 6-7 prints with prints by Ellen Heck.

The prints were beautiful but it was an interesting confirmation for me that I am much more interested and excited by abstract images where I can really see that the image is a print. I mean that I enjoy prints more when you can see the marks and textures that are unique to print making.

These images, as I said were very beautifully done and looked like amazing paintings or drawings. Looking at them it was amazingly clever that they are from a print making process.

There is also an exhibition of Alice in Wonderland at the Laing Art Gallery which I also went to see. It was a nice exhibition, probably more so if you go with children or are a massive Alice fan ;)
