Hi, well I haven't written for ages because I've been so busy in the studio. I have attached photos of the work that I've made since my last post. I have been painting, stretching large canvas' (2x3meters), applying for a Fellowship at Baltic 39, printing and sketching!
We have 9 weeks until the Fine Art Degree show at the University of Sunderland (Friday 16th June 5-8pm).
My emotions have gone from excitement to zero confidence and back up to feeling good ha ha. I will try and keep it at the positive :)
I have also been doing lots of artist research (Helen Frankenthaler, Joan Mitchell, Cecily Brown). Joan Mitchell is quoted on her website saying
"What excites me when I'm painting is what one colour does to another and what they do to each other in terms of space and interaction".
Another key thing that I'm keeping in mind is something that Jessica Voorsanger said at University last week. "You have to make art for you. It is for you first, then it can be for others".
