I have been so looking forward to seeing this exhibition by Eardley in Edinbugh's Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art (Two).

Even with my six year old dragging me around it didn't disappoint. There were 5 rooms of Eardley's work showing work from different time periods and subject matter.

I was first drawn to Eardley's paintings of fields in which she has painted in items from the landscape (seeds, grasses). Seeing the exhibition though was fascinating to see her use of old photographs that went alongside the paintings of children.

I was particularly drawn to the images of bee hives and the way her painting style captured the feeling of the landscape and the wildness of the impending storm.

I have included some of my favourite paintings from the exhibition.
